Capital Introduction for Canadian Hedge Funds
Introcap tracks over 100 single-manager hedge fund firms in Canada, and has successfully introduced more than $150 million in investor capital.
Introcap works closely with investor clients, providing them with manager introductions and preliminary due diligence reporting.-
Manager Clients. Introcap will only introduce Canadian hedge fund managers to accredited, sophisticated investors who are interested in expanding their portfolios to include Canadian hedge funds. Introduction Capital works with the investor to assist them in their manager search.
- Investor Clients. Introcap will provide high-level background information on a wide range of Canadian hedge fund managers from early stage startups to established firms with substantial track records. Introcap streamlines and supports meetings between investors and managers.
Capital Introduction for Private Equity and New Venture Opportunities
We are frequently introduced to private equity and venture capital opportunities through our network of contacts in the business and financial communities. Introduction Capital conducts preliminary due diligence to identify attractive investment opportunities. Compelling opportunities are then presented to our clients for consideration.
Capital Introduction Events
Introcap hosts an annual Capital Introduction event in September where a selected group of Canadian hedge fund managers each have an opportunity to speak with the sophisticated investors who attend. This is a full day forum that includes several panels of hedge fund manager speakers, a moderator and a keynote speaker. Investors enjoy a continental breakfast, networking lunch and cocktail reception. This is a very effective way for investors outside of Canada to meet with several Canadian managers all in one day.
Capital Introduction Compliance
Even though alternative investments are private placements, per securities legislation in all of the Canadian provinces, it is necessary to file a report with respect to any “distributions”. Introduction Capital as a Limited Market Dealer files Report of Exempt Distributions for international funds whose investors reside in Canada. Introduction Capital acts as a filing agent on behalf of the Fund Company.
